Daisy Puppies ~ Three Week’s Old

Hope everyone had a lovely Easter!  Our puppies are doing just great…they’re such a lively crew at three weeks, starting to play-fight and chew on one another’s ears and noses.  Every now and then you’ll hear a little yip/bark, so cute.  They are so much fun to watch and cuddle with….housework and other chores can wait!

We play music for them in the nursery; they love soft rock!  🙂  I’ve also introduced them to a special CD filled with different sounds of life such as vacuum cleaners, babies crying, traffic noise, etc..  They really enjoy a “play gym” that has some interactive things on for them to experience as well.  Next week we’ll be introducing them to puppy mush.  The pups are doing well with having us trim their nails, everyone is very brave!  🙂

Thanks so much for watching our puppies grow.  We hope you enjoy our new pics!    Have a great week everyone!!!

Daisy Puppies ~ Two Week’s Old

Here we are at two weeks old now!  It is so amazing how quickly our puppies are growing and changing from day to day.  Some of the puppies are just starting to open their eyes as you’ll see in this week’s pics.  They’re also starting to stand and do their “wobble walk.”  It won’t be long before they are running around their whelping area!  My chunky monkey puppies are still doing lots of eating and sleeping…..what a life!  🙂  They also make cute little purring sounds sort of like kittens….so funny!  We trimmed nails again this week, they tend to really grow fast at this age.  Everyone slept right through this little grooming detail, no problem!  Walt does the clipping and I hold the puppies….ahh….teamwork!  🙂

As for Mama Daisy, she is getting more comfortable leaving the whelping box for short periods while they sleep, but when she hears any little noise from them, she’s running right back in there to check it all out.

We hope you enjoy this week’s photos.  You can really tell how much they’ve grown since last week!   Thanks so much for taking a look at the progress of our new little blessings!   Happy Easter everyone!  🙂

Daisy Puppies ~ One Week Old !!

Hello puppy lovers!  Our babies will be a week old tomorrow!  I think these guys are getting chubbier by the minute!  Daisy sure does a great job as a mum.  Any little cry she hears, and she’s right there to see what’s going on.  Last night at midnight one of my girls was crying and was just inconsolable.  Daisy and I couldn’t figure out just what was wrong, but I thought this  pup might have a tummy ache.  So my own “momma” instincts kicked in.  I just snuggled this gal up in a warm blanket next to me and rocked her just like I did my own kids when they were little.   Amazingly, she soon fell asleep and wa-la, she was “all better!!”   I put her back in with her littermates and she’s back to her ole self this morning.   That rocking chair idea for the puppy nursery sure did come in handy last night!  🙂

At three days old, we started our puppies on the “Super Dog/Bio Sensor” set of 5 exercises that will continue until they are 16 days old.  These early neurological stimulation exercises are done with each puppy once a day.  Our goal is to increase our puppies’ ability to learn, perform and handle stress.  It is a very interesting concept.  If you’d like to learn more about this program, just follow the  link to “Breeding Better Dogs.”

Now for the really fun part of the week…. more pictures of our puppies.  We hope you enjoy the new “Spring Themed” photos and thanks so much for watching our babies grow up!  🙂

Daisy’s Puppies Have Arrived !!

Hi everyone!  We’ve exciting news to share….in the wee hours of Wednesday morning, Daisy delivered 8 beautiful puppies!  We were truly blessed with a nice mix of genders and colors as you’ll see in the pictures posted below.  Everyone is healthy and Daisy is doing a super job as mama to her sweet babies.  Daisy and I finally got a good night’s sleep last evening so today we wanted to get our announcement and pictures to our wonderful puppy families!

In this first week,  our newborn puppies will spend 90% of their time sleeping.  In between, they’ll nurse and snuggle at mama’s side.  Right now they can’t see or hear but their senses of touch and smell guide them to mum.  They are so cute to watch when they sleep as they make quick little twitches as if they are dreaming.  This is actually called “activated sleep.”  Even at this newborn stage, we begin cuddling our puppies often so they will get used to our touch and be very comfortable with it.  It’s so amazing to see how our babies will grow week to week so we’ll be posting pictures and progress updates as they grow up with us!  🙂

We  hope you enjoy our first photo session of Daisy’s puppies!  Thanks for taking a peek at our new little blessings…
